One Uninsured Child is
One Too Many!

Welcome to Children's Health Initiative-Napa County.

All children deserve to have affordable health insurance and access to comprehensive, quality healthcare.

Children’s Health Initiative-Napa County (CHI) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation dedicated to achieving 100% healthcare coverage for all Napa County children, from prenatal through age 18. Working with our community partners, CHI’s specially trained, bilingual/bicultural staff reaches out to families in Napa County who need information and assistance in enrolling their children in affordable health insurance plans, including prenatal coverage for pregnant women. Just as importantly, our staff follows up with families to ensure they are using their children’s coverage and keeping their children enrolled. Children who have health insurance are healthier, perform better in school, and miss fewer school days, which means parents also miss fewer work days.

Using a streamlined Internet-based application system, we are also able to help eligible families enroll in the state’s CalFresh Program (known as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP, at the Federal level). The CalFresh Program helps improve the health and well-being of qualified households and individuals by providing the means to meet basic nutritional needs.
